The Grassland Is Devoid Of Everything, 2023

The Mongolian people have lived in harmony with the grasslands, horses, sheep, yurts, and dogs for generations, weaving a nomadic life that flows with the seasons. In this vast expanse, there are no towering buildings, bustling streets, clattering noise, or glaring neon lights. Instead, there is the shepherd’s watchful gaze, the haunting song of the wind and rain, and a boundless horizon filled with imagination.

The grassland lacks everything, yet in its emptiness, it holds everything.

This is Bayanbulak, nestled in the heart of Xinjiang, China—where the land speaks in whispers and the sky stretches forever.
